Plan your graduate career events

Use this Hong Kong career events calendar to explore opportunities that match your interests and stage of preparation. The calendar brings different event types together so you can compare dates and decide what deserves a closer look.

Choose graduate career events that fit your goals

Recruitment events and hackathons can help you understand employer expectations and practise explaining your work. Industry talks and AI seminars offer a way to explore emerging topics. University career fairs let you research participating employers and prepare questions about graduate roles and internships.

Check dates and attendance requirements

Read the event status, venue, eligibility and registration instructions before making plans. Some entries may be archived references or labelled demonstrations. An event appearing in the calendar does not mean registration is open or that admission is available to everyone. Confirm arrangements directly with the organiser.

Prepare for graduate career events

Research the organisation, prepare a short introduction and write down questions relevant to your interests. Bring an updated CV when appropriate. Afterwards, record a useful takeaway and share practical advice through Graduate Field Notes to help another student prepare.

Build your career event shortlist

If two events fall on the same day, decide what you want to get out of each one. You might want to ask a recruiter about an internship, learn how a team uses AI, or practise solving a business problem. Pick the event that best matches your goal and keep one alternative.

Save the registration deadline and event time as separate reminders. Include the venue, travel time and the organiser’s confirmation link. For an online event, check the time zone and where to find the joining link. If you are on a waiting list, keep your backup plan until your place is confirmed.

Use School Career Fairs to compare campus options, Job Hunting & Fast-track Events to find activities where you can practise your skills, or Trending Industry & AI Seminars to explore an industry before applying.

After attending, write down one thing you learned and one action you can take that week. For example, if a speaker mentioned a skill you want to develop, find a small project where you can practise it.

Check official event information

For first-hand information, visit the HKUST Career Mosaic page or the Cathay Hackathon website. Check current dates and participation rules there. Graduate career events are a starting point for research, preparation and informed conversations with employers.
